ALCAT Food SensitivityTesting

Are you feeling sick, lethargic or just off your game and can’t determine why?

Well, we are what we eat – as the saying goes – and sometimes what we eat and hidden food allergies may be making us ill.

At South Carolina’s Health Edge Medical and Wellness Center in North Charleston, we offer testing to determine if certain foods are causing you physical problems.

We now offer the ALCAT food sensitivity test. This simple, minimally invasive blood test accurately tests and measures your biological cellular reactivity to several hundred food items.

The ALCAT test is more reliable than traditional food allergy testing that simply detects exposure to certain items. The ALCAT test measures you for food sensitivity and intolerance, as well as for mold and chemical sensitivities.

Studies have indicated that the ALCAT test is more than 83 percent accurate for foods. And it has an impressive 96 percent accuracy rate for food additives. That beats any tests out there for accuracy and allows the medical team at Health Edge Group to get a handle on your problem and develop a treatment or diet plan that will get you feeling like your old self in no time.

HOW DOES ALCAT WORK?

The ALCAT test is designed to measure any changes in the size of white blood cells and white blood cell counts in response to foods, chemicals and other benchmarks.

Your score is tabulated by relating your own untested blood to your tested, reactive blood.

Results are broken down into four categories:

  • Severe Intolerance.
  • Moderate Intolerance.
  • Mild Intolerance.
  • Acceptable Foods.

These results are presented in easy-to-understand reports that Health Edge Group professionals will review with you.

There are a variety of health issues that can be traced to food intolerance or food allergies, a problem you may not even realize you have. Some food-related health problems include:

  • Migraine headaches.
  • Feeling tired or fatigued.
  • Chronic inflammation.
  • Skin rashes.
  • Unwanted weight loss.
  • Unwanted weight gain.
  • Achy joints.
  • Bloating.
  • Gastrointestinal problems.
  • Asthma.
  • Cardiovascular disease.

The ALCAT test can help determine if certain foods are playing a role in your health issues.Eating right is key to good overall health and helps prevent a wide variety of diseases and premature aging.

Your immune system is designed to protect you against infection when you are exposed to viruses or bacteria. But for some, being exposed to common foods, molds or chemicals can cause problems your immune system cannot handle.

For more than two decades, the Antigen Leukocyte Cellular Antibody Test, or ALCAT, has given doctors a powerful diagnostic tool to help their patients manage an array of health conditions which are rooted in the chronic activation of their immune systems. The ALCAT test was developed to help doctors treat their patients more effectively, and with better diagnostic ability.

If you have not been feeling well, whether it be chronic headaches, skin or stomach problems, your diet may be behind what is ailing you.
